Specific fic:
1. Dean and Sam nearly freeze to death after a hunt(?), and Cas comes to their rescue. Cas sleeps with Dean to give him body heat, but it ends up being something more. I'm pretty sure it was a longer fic, with a somewhat toppy!castiel. [FIC FOUND!(x)]

General searches:
2. I'm looking for any fics where Dean has to be restrained/put in Bobby's panic room/etc "for his own good." Could be dark!Dean or suicidal!Dean, and any pairing or gen is fine.

3. I'm slowly starting to like Destiel, but all I'm finding are fics where Castiel takes a more submissive role in the relationship. Any longer, non-pwp fics with Castiel finding out he prefers to take a more leading role or at least one that stands up to Dean's.

4. Emotionally stunted Dean, and Castiel or Sam trying to get past his sarcastic shell to the ooey-gooey center.

5. Any good soulmate/soul bonding trope fics for Destiel or Wincest

For 3 and 5, Unexpected Destinies (http://otp-destiel.livejournal.com/571.html), by otp_destiel is a must read!! Don't be scared by the length, it's really, really worth it: this must be one of the most recced SPN stories out there!

I should warn you that it is very much anti-Sam. It bashes Sam to a great degree and deeply pulls him out of character. It is not a fic suitable for anyone who even remotely likes Sam.

I'm not a Sam-lover (though I don't have anything against him), but I'll tell you this: Sam does get redeemed in the latest chapters. otp_destiel doesn't truly bash him, insofar as she gives a rational explanation to his behaviour later on and only exploits that which is so painfully obvious in the show. I think it's really sad (and a waste) if you give up on reading, for it's one of the jewels of this fandom, and you're truly missing out on something if you don't read Unexpected Destinies. Besides (SPOILERS!), Sam becomes likeable again towards the end (END SPOILERS!)...

I gave it over a 100 chapters, where Sam was out of character every single time he appeared in the fic... After that I couldn't keep putting myself through reading it.

I like Sam but I still enjoyed 'Unexpected Destinies'. There was a plausible explanation for his behaviour, in my mind. But I can see how some may feel differently. It's definitely worth a read in my opinion. :)

me too. i adore her writing mostly, and her Dean/Cas is to die for. But i gave it up, I mean, I can understand not caring for a character. But she assassinated Sam. Completely ignores all that is good and noble about him. And the whole substitution family she does....unnecessary yaknow? Dean could have had all that with the other angels and still had Sam. LOL just imho :)

Summary: When Gabriel shows up to join Team Free Will and offers them a potential solution to the Apocalypse, none of them could have imagined what was going to happen or how it would changes things forever.
