Teen!chesters casefic in the woods or mountains

I'm looking for an old casefic where John leaves the boys in the woods or mountains of I believe it is Pennsylvania or maybe Virginia or West Virginia as a training exercise and they have to travel from one point to another. Of course they encounter a case. It becomes wincest or at least pre-wincest.

Some specifics:
1. It had something to do with a family living in a cabin sometime during the colonial period - 1800s.
2. It gets cold and the boys aren't adequately prepared with appropriate supplies, I don't think.
3. Sam might be injured or sick.
4. Dean realizes that John must have known about the case and feels betrayed that he left them so vulnerable.

I *know* this fic. I've read this fic, and fairly recently, too. I asked here on the com and I think someone here found it for me, but now I can't find that post.
