Good afternoon all!! Spoilers for Season 2 (not sure if this is needed)

I've decided to re-watch Supernatural from the very beginning (wow are they young!) and I'm now looking for a story I read years ago, or anything like it. It's at the end of What Is and What Should Never Be, everything is cannon, except Dean doesn't wake up when he stabs himself, he stays in the dream world. He reconnects with the roadhouse and continues hunting.

Please no wincest.

I'm not sure this is the fic you are looking for. This is a Wish!verse where Dean wakes up still in his AU, having gutted himself with the knife. He continues living in this world, but yet, he has the memories of our Dean, the one in the hunters' world. It deals with his recovery and he and Sam connecting as brothers. This is a great story. I LOVE this story. This is a fic that I read at least once a year. I love her Dean and how she merges the two realities together in this Wish!verse. I loved Carmen, and Dean and Carmen together is just magic in this fic. Anybody who hasn't read this story I recommend wholeheartedly that you do. Dean and Sam discovering their brotherly relationship in this fic, when it was apparent in Dean's AU that they didn't have one, is most awesome.

This other fic you are thinking of sounds interesting. I would like to read that one as well should anyone know what it is.
