Protective Teen!Dean with Child!Sam

I'm looking for any pre-series fics in which Dean is a teenager (ie. physically grown up) and Sam is still a child. Any stories where Dean acts big & tough, but has a soft spot for Sam... providing physical protection or comfort such as a parent would provide to their child. Things like hugging him, carrying him, or shielding him from harm. No pairings, please. Gen only.

Brother Mine

John was out on a hunt when the call came: Kate Milligan was dead, and John was named in her will as the guardian of her son—his son—Adam. Pissed but knowing his duty, Dean pulled Sam out school during exam week, and they went to Windom in the thick of the Minnesota winter. 7-yr-old Adam was a lot like Sammy at that age, but Dean wasn't ready to accept him as another Winchester. Then the boy's life was threatened and all bets were off.

What a great story! Incredibly well-written too, and I loved the monster subplot (that hollow child actually creeped me out quite a bit... good job!)

Thanks so much for the rec! Even though the majority of the hurt/comfort scenes weren't between Sam and Dean, it perfectly portrayed the "big bro" side of young Dean that I was looking for. Plus it was an enjoyable read. Much appreciated!
