Hello there! Recently introduced to and recently addicted to SPN. Of course I had to begin reading SPN fancition.

I found this fiction a few days ago, but lost its url. I'm hoping that you guys can help me:

Because they are always moving from place to place, Sam becomes stressed and stops talking completely. Dean notices the change only after a few weeks of communicating with him through head nods, shrugs, etc. Dean eventually confronts his father about Sam, but John tells him that it's just a phase; many more weeks pass by before he listens to Dean's advice. They finally settle down in one place for several months - the longest they've ever stayed anywhere - and Sam begins speaking again. Something happens and John has to leave them for a while... I've forgotten the exact details past this point, but somehow Sam acquires a cat and John tells him that he can't keep it.
