Hi! I had just read this gorgeous story (here), and the author and I ended up talking about Pooh, which brought the following to mind:
A little while back, someone wrote AWESOME crack fic in the form of Sam + Dean = Winnie the Pooh. I pretty much dislike how people looking for fic here tend to give away the entire plot, so I'm gonna be as vague as possible while still making enough sense that someone gets what I'm looking for!
Sam and Dean and a spell and suddenly, it's Winnie-the-Pooh land. If I recall correctly, Piglet plays an integral part. Bobby and Ellen and Jo may also have been around.

When they spend the time coding/inserting the html linky type of the names of all the people who found the story for them, but still not tell you what the story is... When I was on pay-as-you-go dial-up - that used to irritate the hell out of me.

In a comm, someone would put up a post - you'd click on the link, only to find that it opens to the comm post, with the actual link to the story! Whyyyyyy? Why put a link under a cut??? *insert over-dramtic sobbing*

Wanna know my pet peeve? GREEDY people. Those who have access to particular pictures but refuse to share - but SURE, they'll make icons and headers for you! Fuck that, dude. If you have it, share it. Greedy effers. LMAO.

Oh oh oh - I hate wips where you don't know what's going on with the updates, as in when they're updating and suddenly stop. (1)It kills me cos I'm desperate to know what happens (2)Makes me feel guilty cos while I'm bitching about wanting an update, the writer could be dead as far as I know.
So in conclusion, if you say you are going to update soon and don't (without good rl reason) please please let us know you are still alive - don't leave us hanging.

I used to post all my stuff at all comms all over, lol, so you've likely come across my stuff - and I'm relatively new here, so there isn't much. But I do have plenty of finished stuff if you're interested!

It's pretty darn detailed, and the wips are at the bottom, so you don't even have to LOOK at them, lol. Only 12 completed, and 2 or 3 of them are longish comment porn.
Also, I just realized where we are and that I'm self pimping and yet, I feel no guilt. Does that make me an evil person? *grins*
What else can I bitch about!!! Oh - people who don't get constructive criticism - or FREAK OUT when you don't comment their stuff with the appropriate amount of fawning. I like a bit of con-crit... as long as it's actually constructive, and not just rude commentary on what you're doing wrong and why you suck. (So, if you read and dislike my stuff, let me know why. LOL. It helps writers grow).

Date: 2007-10-07 05:11 pm (UTC)Oh - I love love concrit. And I always try to concrit (not that I am a great expert of writing). However, I always try to be very careful with what I say now as some people take offensive so easily - esp when I didn't say it to be nasty.
Oh oh oh - I absolutely HATE really really badly written stories with loads of reviews - just cos they managed to write an OTT fic where the character is put through abuse after abuse. I mean, yeah - I love the angst and trauma that characters go through, but how can some people ignore the lack of quality and go "OMG!!! i luv this so very muchly. poor Dean. i cant wait til u put he thru more abuse/torture/crying. your a excellent writer."

I received what I guess was SUPPOSED to be con-crit for my "Knives" story, but really it just pissed me off. It was less helpful and more OMG YOU STUPID FUCK WHERE DID YOU LEARN HOW TO WRITE with a side of ONE DAY YOU MIGHT BE GOOD ENOUGH TO WRITE SLOGANS FOR CHEESE. So, lol... it IS all in how you word it. But still, I merely said "Thank you," rather than be rude.

No "new" Jensen pics - but moonilicious did post a larger version of that "Ride 'em Cowboy" shot of dirty Jen in white jeans and cowboy boots and lasso.
One more thing I'd like to bitch about. *GRINS* I'm ALL FOR AU. I love it. But WHY do people keep making John this horrible rapist father? I mean, that's not AU to me. It's creating a whole new character and ruining the name of the original. It irks.

Deathfics - I love and loathe them. I'm always saying I will NOT read them, but sometimes I do and then I go all... *cries* Will read both (after I finish reading this 91k fic - eesh - It's taking me all day...)

Bitching topic no.428937: About those death!fics. I hate those don't give warnings. I know that ruins the suprise and suspense in the fic, but they could at least warn for unhappiness or hide them and give us a choice. For someone who isn't that thrilled about death!fics - its very very painful to get so emotionally invested in a fic and then have their beloved character die in the end.

I have wasted my whole day trying to convert a file that apparently cannot be converted for free- that I know of. And bitching sounds FABULOUS to me. So I bitch at people who post torrents which are misleading, cuz had I known it was an .mkv file, I'd have never spent 18 hours downloading it. Grrr and Arrrrgh.

Also, reading through the comments, some people can be so rude - which brings me to my rant. I HATE it when people are nasty and accuse you of being lazy when you post help posts and that I am making all these nice people do the work for me. Hello? I did not force these people to help me. I did not ask them to do the work for me, I only asked if they KNOW the answer/solution. The only work they'd have to do is to type a few words - it's a free world - they are completely entitled to NOT help me if they didn't want to. And yet the stupid commenter, takes their time out to read a post they hate and comment on it. Fecker!

I can envision 400 pound losers with no friends and no significant other with nothing better to do than bitch at the "peons". *shrugs* Doesn't bother me, cuz I was never a nerd - til now. And I'm finding it rather difficult to pull off full on geek properly. LOL.
THANK YOU for finding that. I spent half the day googling. I downloaded 7 different programs, and none of them were any good unless I buy the free version. I think I'll try doing it again tomorrow with the info from the page you linked me to.
