Sam is captured by a Djiin or some similar creature

I just read To Die For a Memory (http://ohsam.livejournal.com/196018.html?thread=1496754#t1496754)

"where Sam is trapped on a dream world and chooses to stay there, even with the knowledge that he is going to die because the memory he has is a happy one with Dean.

Dean, for his part goes in to help Sam and is then shocked to find out that Sam knows he is dying but wants to stay because he is happy here with Dean.

Dean then has to reach Sam and get him to come back."

I read this Sam under the Djiin's spell story that I enjoyed. It might not be exactly what you are looking for but it's worth a look.

Summary: An alternate version of 2x20, where Sam is caught in the djinn's spell ... and things are not what you'd expect. Some things never change, though: Dean still wants to save people, Sam's still hunting things, and at the end of it all family business is the only thing that matters.
