In searching for
I Can't Remember (the sound that you found for me) (http://bellatemple.livejournal.com/433138.html?view=3106546#t3106546), I stumbled across this link from way back:

Bobby-centric request (http://community.livejournal.com/spnstoryfinders/5676968.html). They have a bunch of Bobby caring for the boys, more than John does.

And "I Can't Remember" isn't -exactly- what you asked for, but I think it sheds a ton of light on the father/son relationship between Bobby and Dean, and why, imo, Dean responds more affectionately towards Bobby then he does John.
