New girl here. *waves* 

I am looking for a story that I thought I bookmarked but alas it is gone.

 The only parts I remember are Sam and Dean living in an apartment (John might have been there but i'm not sure). Dean took a construction job and met a older guy who was the only one that would talk to him. I believe Sam took a walk one day to a college. And that's about all I have. 

Thanks in advance for any help. I apologize for any flubbed info, after reading so many stories they all start to mesh together. 

Edit- Awesomely better description that might help, John was abusive and as soon as Dean reached his majority he got the two of them out of there. Sam was supposed to stay home since he was still a minor and could be forced home to John if found but he wound up visiting the college to avoid severe cabin fever and boredom. He fit in because he was so tall.

I think I know what you're talking about and I'm fairly certain that was one of the "little more tequila, little less demon-hunting" AU fics that went around last year.

It was a WIP back when I read it, and I think in one of the last portions John DID track them down.
