Okay, kids, I've got a strange request but bare with me. Basically, I've got a jones for shellshock!Dean. So I'm looking for any fic in which Dean is so upset about something that he simply checks out, mentally and doesn't respond to Sam or even John. Weird, I know. I don't want to sound like i'm pimping my story out... but my current wip (Fly to the Angels), has elements/segments of shellshock!Dean, especially ch1, 4, possibly 5, but not to the extent that he completely checks out - I always bring him back.

Hmm... you've made me reconsider my plot route. Discussions with my muse is needed methinks.

Other rec: The one that I immediately think of is writeatmidnight's wip 'You Can't Fix This'... there are several times where Dean is so traumatised, exhausted and shellshocked, that he can't/wont speak.

writeatmidnight's story seems to be more of what you were looking at though.
