Hi, I thought I replied to this but it seems not, sorry about that. I think this Jimmy is pretty well-written. I don't know how much to tell you for spoilers, but it starts off with him as a child and he & Cas go through aging together with Sam and Dean. He is religious and it does play a role in his character, but I think it's really well woven into the story and makes it meaningful. I think the way the author handles Jimmy & Cas gives both of them a more rich character and story line. FWIW.
