I remember this snippet/quote or whatever you may call it and cannot for the life of me remember which of the many wonderful fics I read it belongs to. Hopefully, one of you will recognize this:

fatale, in which there is mud and dirt and no sign of a sofa or a bed, and it hits me over the head. But hey, FOUND!

The boys are in bed (might be a couch, but I'm thinking bed), Sam covering Dean with his large body. Dean feels very much protected, and thinks something like "Is this how I made you feel?", referring to when they shared a bed as children and their positions were reversed, obviously.
