Okay. So I had a dream last night, and it was one of those Supernatural dreams. Season four-ish, and Sam was influenced by Ruby/demon blood and was mocking Dean for breaking in hell. And with me being me, there was some Dean/Cas.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could recommend fics that involve the following (since I wouldn't even know how to search for these):

a) Sam being mean to Dean about something relating to Hell.
b) Dean freaking Sam out by using the "skills" he picked up in Hell (torture, high pain threshold, etc.)
c) Sam redeeming himself for being kind of a jerk to Dean during season four.

I know that's a little vague, but a girl can try! I love longer fics, and especially Dean/Castiel (or even Dean and Cas friendship). I also really do love Sam, and would like him to be redeemed.

The only person in s4 who needed to be redeemed was Dean. Or have you never watched that season? How many times has dean punched Sam in the face and beaten him now? Anyone keeping count? How many times did Dean call Sam a monster in s4 alone and did he ever apologize? He had pretty choice words and Shitty behavior for sam in s5 as well. Just because you deangirls and Dean/cas fans made the supernatural fandom a place of hate toward so many fans of Sam that they left does not mean you won, or that Dean as the show or the fandom has made him is any kind of man. He is not! You people are so desperate for a man, a " real" man, a leader, even in stories, that you're like a man in the Sahara, drinking sand and saying that it is water. As always, I am not even angry when i get to the end of these rants. Just terribly sad :\

Don't know why I'm bothering to reply when obviously, all you want to do is pick a fight.

Dean is one of my all-time favorite characters. But I love Sam too.

You don't know anything about me, including the fact that I hate gender roles and think they're absolutely archaic, so that comments about wanting a "real man" is beyond hilarious. Dean and Sam are incredibly fucked up boys who were raised without any particular stability, and they both have their own issues. I love them, I think they're great characters, but no thank you. If I ever met a Sam or Dean in real life, I'd run the other way.

And see, all I see about s5 was that Dean and Sam were trying to forgive one another and be forgiven for the bad things they BOTH had done. Sam regarding drinking demon blood and trusting a demon over his brother, and Dean for torturing souls in hell and starting the apocalypse.

And yeah, I am a Dean/Cas fan. So fucking what?

Cry me a fucking river. You want all the fics where Dean is a horrible older brother and beats up Sam? Go look for them yourself and stay out of my fic request.

Also, considering I had a friend who just passed away last year from a heroin overdose, I know that people who are battling addiction can be absolute pricks when they want their fix. Sam is no saint in that season, and neither is Dean.

I just read Amateur Night at the Apollo. Fantastic. Dean, completely unhinged... not the usual thing I look for, but it was very well written and just the right amount of creepy.

And thanks for the other rec! I'll give it a try. I inevitably get sucked into a WIP/incomplete fic, but what can you do? Real life happens.

Hm, also maybe for c) (though not a perfect fit): Telling Sam (http://marlowe78.livejournal.com/2263.html): Some things are meant to hurt. Dean tells Sam who broke the first seal. It goes about as well as expected.
As I said, it's not really the best fit, but for me (and I wrote it, so I know how the author wanted it to be ;-) ) Sam does redeem himself in it, for a lot of things.

for b) (I think) Muscle Memory (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5551571/1/Muscle_Memory): Very little of Hellish education has real-world applications. Dean discovers it's more than enough. Early season 5, sometime after 5:4.

I apologize if there is nothing in it that fits your requests exactly. I haven't read most of these in a long time, and I'm not SUCH a big redemtion-fan, so I tend to not read them when I know what it's about (I can get hooked into them when it's done sneakily ;-) )
But I thought some close-hits are better than nothing, right?
