Non-specific J2, Wincest fics

Okay, people, here's the deal.

You know when you first started reading Wincest and/or J2, and you found a few stories that were good and you wanted to keep reading? But then you found one story that just made you absolutely and irrevocably fall in love with the pairing? That's what I want!

So, tell me, what stories made you fall in love with the pairing of J2 or Wincest?

Bonus points if the fics are first time stories. I'm cool with fics of various lengths, also. Just give me whatever fics you see fit, and I'll be happy!

The only things that I don't wish to be included are mPreg and BDSM. I'm pretty vanilla when it comes to my J2 and Wincest.

This is one of the first (if not the first) J2 fic that I read and it's what made me look for more.

Summary: It's a pretty good thing that Jensen is patient because he's kind of been in love with Jared for awhile now and the guy is just over the edge of completely oblivious. But everyone already knows that Jared feels the same, it's just a matter of time until he realizes it. That and some help from a selection of friends - who are currently hiding their own secret - and a shirtless Tom Welling.

Another by the same authors, because they are awesome and their stories rock, in my opinion.

Summary: It's not totally weird to be in love with a person's voice is it? If it is, Jared's pretty much okay with being weird.

I have to admit that J2 was a squick for me when I first found my way to the SPN fandom. This was the fic that changed that for me. No graphic sex, just wonderful characterizations, romance and a great story. Very much worth a read and at approx 24k can be read it one sitting. Enjoy.

The first J2 AU I read and it remains a favorite: Open Mike Night at the Fremont (http://audrarose.livejournal.com/132263.html). Summary - Bookstore AU set in Chicago, with Jared as a sculptor who works out of a garage and Jensen as a bookstore clerk who's trying to get over a tragedy.

In Production (http://archiveofourown.org/works/41962/chapters/54831): Non-AU that takes place 10 years after Supernatural ends. This is by far my favorite non-AU J2.

A few of them I had read previously, but I went back and re-read those. I've always loved Just one Breath as well as As This Sunset Turns to Morning. Those are two stories that I can always read again.

I enjoyed reading this story because the plotline was very compelling and I liked the characters, but it was a little difficult to follow due to its ever changing plot. I'm not sure I'll read it again anytime soon since my brain is still trying to process it. So many secrets! However, thank you for the rec. I did enjoy it.

I know what you mean, though I see that as a risk inherent to reading serial fanfiction... the plot about the branch executives went straight over my head until I read it a second time.

Wow! So cool when I can rec the same fic series twice in one day...

This is the fic that did it for me: Stumbling Across Its Bleak Ending (http://esorlehcar.livejournal.com/369920.html) and, of course, it's companion piece, Practical Men of the World (http://esorlehcar.livejournal.com/372671.html). Takes place right after Devil's Trap. I still cry every time I read it.

If you have the time, I'd read everything in this 'verse. SO good!

For a long time, I tried really hard to read Wincest. I love man on man sex and I also love Dean and Sam Winchester, and to combine that together sounds like my greatest fantasy -- Winchester on Winchester sex. Except that when I read it, it was like...nothing. I didn't get it, didn't feel the pairing, didn't see what I had pictured in my head at all. So I gave up on it and turned to J2 land, a warm and cozy place I will forever reside.

Still, part of me has always wanted to ship Wincest. So, when I began reading Stumbling Across Its Bleak Ending, I was hesitant. But this fic was different. I felt something, definitely more than the nothing I'd felt previously with Wincest. And it wasn't OH GOD WINCEST SO HOT WANT TO TOUCH THE HEINY. It was just, hey, yeah, I can see that. So I kept reading, and I really enjoyed it. And I'm glad that I did because, even though I'll never be able to fully ship Wincest, it's nice to know that I've found at least one fic that is my perfect version of the ship. So thanks for recommending it to me.
